some notes on using Bitfous Companion to control a Stagetec Avatus audio mixing console using a Stream Deck

You definitely need an Ember Plus Viewer to retrieve all the informations needed. Unfortunately the path is displayed there with slashes while companion needs it with dots.

Connection

When activating the Ember__Avatus connection be sure to "Enable Tree Auto-Parse" BUT limit the parsed tree to only a specific part, otherwise the console will do some unwanted "magic". For instance enter 0.11 to only auto-parse the control room part.

toggle switches

add a new button, choose Press Action: Ember__Avatus: Toggle Value Boolean
find the console switch in EmberPlusViewer, for instance CR1 Dim is 0.11.4.0.8.3 or use "select registered path" and choose from the list

Caution: there are switches in the console that are not boolean - the CR mute button is a Int value with just 0 and 1 as values
as of february 2026 there seems to be no way to toggle this CR mute (monitoring the status works)
a workaround is to use OSC in parallel to just switch this button

get switch status

use the feedback tab of a button to monitor console switches
add "internal: Variable: Check value" as feedback and choose the desired node: Ember__Avatus:CXP...
